WHEREAS, the County Boards of Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox,
McDonough, and Warren Counties have adopted resolutions for the establish-
ment of the West Central Illinois Regional Council of Public Officials; and
WHEREAS, said resolutions include the provision that the elected
chief executive .of each community within the aforementioned counties
having a population of more than 10,000 shall be represented on said
Council; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Council to encourage intergovernmental
cooperation and to seek, through mutual agreement, solutions to mutual
challenges for the benefit of all citizens, to provide an opportunity for
all units of local governments in the region to cooperate in the solution
of problems, and to develop policies and plans that are common and regional
in nature;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
CantaQ3 ~ ratifies the action taken by the Mayor of the City
entering into the intergovernmental. cooperative agreement establishing
the West Central Illinois Regional Council of Public Officials.
