Dear Mayor Bohler:
The 2003 Maintenance Program has been prepared. We are submitting the following
items for the City's review and approval.
1. Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by Municipality
under the Illinois Highway Code -BLR 4123,
Appropriating $287,000.00 Motor Fuel Tax Funds for the program.
2. Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs -BLR 8202
Outlines the maintenance operations and costs.
3. Maintenance Engineering to be Performed by a Consulting Engineer -
BLR 4310
Shows cost break down by fee group.
4. Spread Sheet showing locations and costs for Maintenance Operation No.
1 -Bituminous Hot Sand Seal Coat (Modified).
5. Location Map showing locations for Operation No. 1.
Please place the above items on the agenda for the Mechanical Committee meeting on
June 24, 2003 for their consideration.
If found acceptable then it should be placed on the agenda for the City Council meeting
on July 1, 2003.
Once it is approved by you and the Council, we will bring copies of the documents
needed to be signed, and sealed by you and the Clerk. This should be done
Wednesday, July 2, 2003. We will then submit them to the Illinois Department of
Transportation for their approval.

Once the approvals have been completed, we will advertise for a letting in the IDOT
Bulletin. Tentatively the letting could be held July 29, 2003.
