R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, on February 2, 1967, The Metropolitan Sanitary
District of Greater Chicago adopted a Solids Disposal on
Land policy for ut~li~ation and reclamation' and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption and to implement
that policy, The Metropolitan Sanitary District oz' Greater
Chicago. developed a Land Reclamation Project in Fulton County,
Illinois, such project being conceptualized in a comprehensive
development described as The Prairie Plan, and
WHEREAS, The Prairie Plan embodies a joint development
proposal for the mutual benefits of Coolc and Fulton Counties;
such development to coincide with local planning and develop-
ment programs,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Trustees of The Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
Chicago in regular meeting assembled this 29th day of March,
1973, that it hereby adopts the following to be its policy:
1. The Ntetropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
Chicago shall cooperate fully with Local
planning agencies, municipalities and Fulton
County in developing a Land Reclamation Program
~ in Fulton County.
2. The Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
Chicago shall so conduct and, if necessary,
• modify the use of its land utilization sites
so as to avoid interference with the expanding
needs of local communities such as residential •
and commercial developments.

3. In the operation of its land utilization sites,
The Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
-- ~ Chicago shall recognize and assist in the
~' attainment of defined goals of local communi-
ties in Fulton County, Illinois.
