HomeMy WebLinkAboutResoultion #3711h ~~3711 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CANTON TO IMPLEMENT A MASTER PLAN FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER SITE WHEREAS, the Master Plan for Redevelopment of the International Harvester Site contains recommendations for the constructive utilization of land and resources as they relate to the future development of the community. The plan provides a reference framework for undertaking development projects required to reach the long-range goals of the community and also provides short-range guidelines for reviewing applications for rezoning and proposed subdivisions of land; and WHEREAS, the plan can be useful only if it is implemented. This will require action by public agencies, developers, business, industry and private citizens; and WHEREAS, one of the action steps that can put the plan into effect is voluntary compliance arising from community and public understanding and acceptance of the plan proposals; and WHEREAS, the other action step to put the plan into effect is the adoption, implementation and continuing review by municipal officials of a zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, a housing code and other regulatory ordinances and development controls. NOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Canton to adopt the Master Plan for the Redevelopment of the International Harvester Site, a copy of which is attached. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this list day of ~ettember , 2004, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: ~~~ Sartf, r'illingham, Molleck, Harn, (;ax:L, Hartford, Reed.
