HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3703 RESOLUTION NO. 3703 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. WHEREAS, emergency response to critical incidents, whether natural or man- made, requires integrated professional management; and, WHEREAS, unified command of such incidents is recognized as the management model to maximize the public safety response; and, WHEREAS, the National Incident Management System, herein referred to as NIMS, has been identified by the Federal Government as being the requisite emergency management system for all political subdivisions; and, WHEREAS, failure to adopt NIMS as the requisite emergency management system may preclude reimbursement to the political subdivision for costs expended during and after a declazed emergency or disaster and for training and prepazation for such disasters or emergencies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact. 2. That the City Council fmds it in its best interest to adopt the National Incident Management System and therefore does adopt. 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approved by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 3rd day of August , 2004. AYES: Aldermen Sazff, Fillingham, Hazn, Carl, Hartford, Reed, West.
