Streets & Garbage Committee Chet Phillips, Chairman There was no business to be discussed under Streets and Garbage, and the committee adjourned. Lake, Buildings & Grounds Committee Jim Hartford, Chairman At the request of Mayor Edwards, Jim Snider discussed the phone system in city hall. Several citizens have complained to the Mayor and to city hall staff of their dislike for the automated phone answering system. Jim suggested having everyone answer their own phones, which would require adding two more phone lines to the system, one for him and one for Zoning. The cost would be $200 for the change, plus $50 per month. The other option is to stay with the current five lines and re-program the system eliminating the automated answering service. In doing this, Susan would answer for the Mayor and Assistant (0065); Linda would answer Public Works, Streets, Garbage and Zoning (5022) and she would answer Community Development (1288); Peggy would answer City Treasurer and City Clerk (0020) and the water department would answer their line. All of these lines are equipped with voice mail, with the exception of the water department. All phones would still have the option of transferring calls to any other phone in the building. The cost to re-program the system for the current five lines would be $90.00. Jim stated that he or Susan could re-program the system at a cost of $40.00. Motion by ~1rr~` Alderman Phillips, second by Alderman Shores to spend $40.00 and have Jim re-program the system for the current five lines. Voice vote, motion carried. For information only, Clif O'Brien stated that some repairs are being made in house to the city hall roof due to some leaks. These repairs will get the roof through the next season with no problems. This year's TIF money, which could be used for the roof, has been allocated to the Depot renovation. No further business was discussed and the committee adjourned.
