Absent was lderman Elny Harn. thers in attendance: Mayor Jerry Bohler, City Clerk Nancy Whites, City Treasurer atty Beaird Franzoni, City Attorney Ron Weber, Wastewater Superintendent Joe arruthers, Water Treatment Superintendent Greg Pollitt, Police Chief Donald F. dwards, Acting Fire Chief Bonnie Cremer, Street Superintendent George Spahn, ystem Maintenance Superintendent Bill Terry, Video Service Joe Ginger, Daily Ledger ep. John Froehling, WBYS rep. Erin Stremmel, Journal Star rep. Brenda Bowen. In the udience was Rod Heinze. Public Safety & Traffic Alderman Robert Molleck, Chairman Mayor Bohler introduced each committee and the Aldermen who chair the committee. Police Report. Police Chief Donald Edwards highlighted the School Resource Officer position. Don said his days are pretty full and the report reflects that. Fire Report. Acting Fire Chief Bonnie Cremer mentioned that they completed the Fire Hydrant Flushing last Sunday. There were a total of 640 hydrants in the city. Bonnie cautioned residents with leaf burning, to keep handy a hose and keep the fires to small ones, and also keeping a watchful eye on the fire. The Public Safety & Traffic Committee adjourned at 6:37 p.m. Streets & Garbage Committee Alderman Les Carl, Chairman There were no items on the agenda. Mayor Bohler said the City will have the leaf pick up again this year. The schedule will be available next Tuesday. Treat or Treating announced by Police Chief Donald Edwards will be Sunday October 31St from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Streets & Garbage Committee adjourned at 6:38 p.m. Lake, Buildings & Grounds Mechanical Committee meeting October 26, 2004 Alderman Rick Reed, Chairman Cans for Canton Lake. Alderman Reed mentioned that Alderman Carl had gone on vacation in Minnesota and the town he visited used cans to pay for walking trails, benches and picnic tables. Alderman Carl mentioned they used a stationery trailer to put the cans in right where they entered their lake area. They also had organizations sponsor fund drives. The idea moved slow at first for those in Minnesota until the public seen the benches they bought with the money. Alderman Sarff suggested putting in a container to receive the cans in the recycling center. Alderman Reed recommended the City lot on West Locust Street could be the site for accepting the cans. The committee will seek more information and will bring back to next committee meeting. The Lake, Buildings & Grounds Committee adjourned at 6:45 p.m. Public Works, Water & Sewer Committee Alderman Elny Harn, Chairman There were no items on the agenda to discuss, and no one had anything to add to the agenda.
