A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR
2023 SIDEWALK AND ADA RAMP IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois (the "City") intends on making certain
improvements to sidewalks and ADA ramps within the corporate limits of the City of Canton(the
"Improvements");
WHEREAS,the City has obtained bids from multiple contractors for the Improvements;
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is necessary and in the
best interests of the City of Canton for City to accept the bid from Illinois Civil Contractors, Inc.
(the"Bid"), as substantially attached hereto as "Exhibit A".
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON,ILLINOIS,AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Recitals set forth above, and all facts and statements contained therein, are
found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated and adopted as part of this
Resolution;
2. That the Bid from Illinois Civil Contractors, Inc., substantially in the form attached
hereto as "Exhibit A,"is hereby APPROVED.
3. That the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
execute any and all agreements and any other related and necessary documents, on
behalf of the City of Canton, in order to accomplish the Improvements as set forth in
the Bid.
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton,Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 19th
day of September, 2023, upon a roll call vote as follows:

Bid Withdraw
Dear City of Canton,
Please accept this letter as my withdrawal of my bid and bid security for the above
project. After reviewing the plans and bid documents and speaking with the Engineer on the
project,I have found that there is a material and substantial mistake in the preparation of my bid
submitted to you.
This mistake in the bid would not allow me to complete the construction work for the bid
amount submitted.
It is also my understanding this will disqualify me from bidding on the work in these
contracted documents. I hope you can also accept this as an apology for my mistake and we may
be able to work together on future projects.
