ORDINANCE NO. 19 9 6
AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY
GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, FROM A R-3 ZONING
CONFIGURATION TO A R-4 ZONING CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory
hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of said City of Canton; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory hereinafter described is
owned by GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Rezoning has been filed
by the Co-Petitioners, current owner, GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION and prospective
buyer, William F. Phillips, Phillips & Associates Architects, Inc., requesting that the property
hereinafter described be rezoned from an R-3 zoning configuration to an R-4 zoning configuration;
and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was conducted by the
Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this
State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on December 14, 2009, and
said Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that the property hereinafter described be
rezoned from an R-3 zoning configuration to a R-4 zoning configuration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:

A part of Lot Number Sixteen (16) in FRENCH' S ADDITION to the
Town (now City) of Canton, Illinois, bounded and described as
follows:
Commencing at a point 118 feet West of the Northeast corner of said
Lot 16; thence running West 113 feet; thence south 180 feet; thence
East 113 feet; thence North 180 feet, to the point of beginning,
situated in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois.
Common Address: 344 West Chestnut Street, Canton IL 61520;
being owned by GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, be and the same is hereby rezoned
from an R-3 zoning configuration to an R-4 zoning configuration, in accordance with the
applicable rules, laws and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to
make the necessary adjustments to the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the
rezoning hereunder.
Section 3. That this Ordinance was passed and became in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by a majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, this 15thiay of December , 20 09 , upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Hartford, Ellis, Rivero, Sarff, West,
Schenck, Reed.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: None.
