HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1994ORDINANCE NO. i ~ a a AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE WEST ALLEY BETWEEN LOTS 9 TO 16 IN ANDERSON'S FIRST ADDITION BE ONE-WAY FROM SOUTH TO NORTH FROM LIMN STREET TO CHERRY STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the Public Safety and Traffic Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to provide that the alley between Lots 9 to 16 in Anderson's First Addition be one-way from South to North from Linn Street to Cherry Street in the City of Canton, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact. 2. That the west alley between Lots 9 to 16 in Anderson's First Addition be one-way from south to north from Linn Street to Cherry Street in the City of Canton, Illinois. 3. That traffic control signs shall be placed on the affected alley in conformity with the foregoing. 4. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-Five ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) dollars for each such offense. 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this i ~ ~ day of December, 2009 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES• Aldermen Reed, Schenck, West, Sarff, Rivero, Ellis, Hartford.
