HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #0670R E S O L U T I O N No. ~7y WHF~REAS, certain Federal legislation recently effective makes it necessary or desirable to establish work periods for both firemen and policemen regularly employed by the City of Canton, Illinois, as well as to establsish certain policy touching thereon; and, WHEREAS, other considerations make it further necessary or desirable to form- ally establish pay periods for persons regularly employed by the City of Canton, Illinois, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, as follows: 1. That commencing January 1, 1975, the work period for each fireman regularly employed by said City shall consist of twenty-one days; 2. That, commencing January 1, ly'75, the work period for each policeman regularly employed by said City shall consist of twenty-eight days; 3. That the current practice of trading time between employees regularly employed by this City may be continued under the following conditions: that it be voluntary on the part of the employee and at the request of the employee (and not at the request of this City); that it be not on account of this City's business operations bt~t only because of the employees desire or need to attend to personal matters; that records be maintained by this City (to be initiated as a matter of duty by each Department Head) of all time traded by its employees; and, that the period during which time is traded and paid back does not exceed 12 months; and, 4. That the pay period for all persons regularly employed by said City shall commence on Saturday of each week. and end on the Friday of each week thereafter succeeding.
