R~~ S OLUT I ON
(A Resolution Providing For Participation of the City of Canton, Illinois
in the FI7E PROTECTION TRAIPdITdG ACT of the' State of Illinois. )
!~Ihereas, the cor~oorate authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois
have determined to participate in the FIRE P?~OTFCTION TR~IhTIT'd~ ,iCT of
the State of Illinois (as~;rovided in Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, Ch. 85,
Sec. 531 et sequi); and,
'~hereas, tLey desire by these presents to take enablinT action
therefor, V
NOW, THE'~E`?O~E, pE IT 4NP IT HE`'EBY IS '~'=~OLt~ET1 BY TfIE COT?POR.!~'I'E AT?TuORITIES
OF THE CITY O.^ C4NTON, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That the determination of this City to participate actively in
said FIDE P?GTECTIOPt TR?~ININO ACT be ,and the same hereby is declared.
2. That, hereafter, before any individual may commence regular
employment as a. fire fiPuber on the Fire nepartment of the City of Canton,
Illinois he must have been certified to this Cit~T by the Illinois Fire
Protection Personnel Standards and Edr,cation_ Commission in the Department
of Law Enforcement as having; succeGsfvlly co~:~pleted an approved training
coarse (as contem~~lated by said FIRE 'ZOTii,!'T7~N T?~.~Ir`INr -1CT).
3. That, the traininj herein contemplated rnvst have been completed
by such individual within his 7.robationarv period, or ~.~Jithin 6 months
from the date of his initial employment as determined by this City.
4. That the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of this City
are hereby instructed and directed to make such neceGsary amendments and
modifications in their Rules as may be to comely with the intendments
hereof and said FI~'I~' :'~'?O`"r~CTIC%N T'2~~ININCx _?CT.
5. That the Clerk of this City send a certified. copy hereof to
the Illinois Fire -}rotect~:on Personnel Standards and Education Commission
in the nepartment of Law Enforcement forthwith ~znd ~s contemplated by
said FI?',E P'?OrCErTI_GN TRAINING ACT.
