R E S O L U T I O N
(A Resolution designating a Zoning Commission for hearing and report on a pro-
posed new Zoning Ordinance for the City of Canton, Illinois.)
Whereas, the Corporate Authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois have heretofore
named, designated, and charged a Committee with the duty of reviewing the existing Zoning
Ordinance of said City and making such recommendations in amendment and revision thereof
as may be; and,
Whereas, said Committee has now advanced its work in these premises and have now unto the
City Council of said City submitted its tentative report and proposed new Zoning Ordinance
with recommendation that public hearing thereon be held; and,
Whereas, said Corporate Authorities are now persuaded that said Committee should by
them be now named, designated, and authorized as a "ZONING COMMISSION" of this City for
and to the purpose of holding such public hearing or hearings thereon as the law contem-
plates and, further, provided with with instructions in the premises thereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
(1) That said Committee, consisting of John Grim, John Rader, and William H. Malmgren,
be and it hereby is designated as the "ZONING COMMISSION" of this City and, as such, hereby
directed and further charged with the duty to hold a public hearing or hearings on said
proposed new Zoning Ordinance for this City, as provided by law, and, thereafter, to make
further report and recommendation thereof unto the Corporate Authorities of this City; and,
(2) That, to this end, said Zoning Commission cause such notice and do such other acts
in the premises and in implementation of its duty herein contemplated as the law provides; and,
(3) That, if practicable, said Zoning Commission hold any initial public hearing, here-
in contemplated, in the Canton Senior High School Authitorium, located at 1001 North Main
Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, commencing at the hour of 7:00 P.M. on date of May
17, 1976 and, thereafter, at such times and places, if any, as said Commission may determine.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and APPROVED by the Mayor
