ORDINANCE N0. ~ ~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 1, CHAPTER 6, SECTION 3 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CANTON CITY
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to .the best
interests of the City of Canton to modify and amend Title 1, Chapter 6,
Section 3 of the Canton Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Title 1, Chapter 6, Section 3 of the Canton Municipal Code
be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"1-6-3: REGULAR MEETINGS:
The regular meetings of the Council shall be held
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on the first
and third Tuesdays of each and every month at six
thirty o'clock (6:30) P.M., except that when said
Tuesday shall be a public holiday or a day upon
which shall be held any general or special election
the Council shall meet on the Wednesday following
at the same time. Adjourned meetings may be held
for the purpose of completing the unfinished business
of the regular meeting at such time or times as may
be determined by the Council; provided, however, that
regular reports of officers of the City shall be
presented at the first meeting in each month and
claims against the City shall be presented at the
second meeting in each month."
2. That the remainder of Title 1, Chapter 6, City Council, of the
Canton Municipal Code remain in full force and effect.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
