AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF ONE HUNDRED PARKING METERS OWNED BY
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate
authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois, it is no longer necessary
or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Canton to retain
the following described personal property: one hundred parking meters,
now owned by it; and
WHEREAS, Central Illinois Junior Achievement of 1605 East Ash Street,
Canton, Illinois has offered to purchase said personal property for the
sum of $1.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CORPORATE AUTHORITIES OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to Chapter 24, Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes, the corporate authorities find that the following described
personal property: one hundred parking meters, now owned by the City of
Canton is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Canton and the best
interests of the City of Canton will be served by its sale.
2. Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City Engineer be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to sell the following described personal
property: one hundred parking meters, now owned by the City of Canton, to
Central Illinois Junior Achievement of 1605 East Ash Street, Canton, Illinois
for the sum of $1.00.
3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, by at least three-fourths of all the corporate authorities, and
approval in the manner provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
