AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 4 OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL
CODE CONCERNING CLASSES OF LIQUOR LICENSES.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to the best
interests of the City of Canton to modify and amend Title 3, Chapter 8,
Section 4 of the Canton Municipal Code concerning classes of liquor licenses;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a
similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Title 3, Chapter 8, Section 4 of the Canton Municipal Code
be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3-8-4: CLASSES OF LICENSES:
Licenses for the sale at retail of alcoholic liquor
within the Corporate limits of the City shall be divided
into the following classes:
Class 1, Club License, which shall authorize the sale of alcoholic
beverages at retail on the premises specified for consumption therefor
to members and guests of a.club.
Class 2, Supper Club License, which shall authorize the sale of al-
coholic beverages at retail on the specified premises of a restaurant
for consumption on said premises.
Class 2 A, Bowling Alley License, which shall authorize the sale of
alcoholic beverages at retail on the specified premises of a bowling
alley for consumption on said premises.
Class 3, Tavern License, which shall authorize the sale of alcoholic
beverages at retail on the premises specified for consumption on or
off said premises.
Class 3 A, Supplemental Tavern License, which shall authorize the
sale (at the option only of a Class 3, Tavern License Licensee) of
alcoholic beverages at retail, in packaged form, on the premises
specified by a Class 3, Tavern License licensee, for consumption off
said premises (only and on condition that no bar, chairs and tables
(or other facilities) exist or be maintained on said premises for
use in connection with the consumption of alcoholic beverages on said
premises at any time and that no such beverages be consumed on said
premises at any time.
Class 4, Restaurant, Beer and Wine License, which shall authorize the
sale of beer and wine at retail on the specified premises of a restaurant
for consumption on said premises and in conjunction with the simultaneous
or near simultaneous consumption of food thereon."

2. That the remainder of Title 3, Chapter 8, Intoxicating Liquors,
of the Canton Municipal Code remain in full force and effect.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
