AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AND CANTON UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER 66 FOR
THE PURCHASE OF THE WRIGHT SCHOOL PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable, necessary and in the public
interest that the City of Canton, Illinois acquire the Wright School
property, which is legally described as follows, to-wit:
Lot Number 115 and Lot Number 116 in Swans' Second
Addition to the City of Canton, situated in Fulton
County, Illinois;
and
WHEREAS, such property will be used for a fire, police and
civil defense station and will serve the public and corporate purposes
for which the City of Canton is organized; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 634, the City of Canton, Illinois
has entered into negotiations with Canton Union School District Number 66
for the purchase of said property; and
WHEREAS, Canton Union School District Number 66 has agreed to convey
such property to the City of Canton for the purchase price of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has re-
viewed the terms of the proposed Agreement for Warranty Deed, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Agreement for Warranty Deed between the City of Canton,
Illinois and Canton Union School District Number 66, which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A, is hereby approved, said
Agreement to be subject to and effective pursuant to the terms and
conditions set forth therein.
2. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois

are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf

of the City of Canton and to deliver said Agreement to Canton Union
School District Number 66 for execution.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
approval by the Mayor thereof.
