ORDINANCE N0._~

WHEREAS it appears to the City Council of the city of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is within the corpor-
ate limits of the said municipality, and that the owner thereof has ap-
peared before the Canton Planning Commission of the city of Canton, Illi-
nois, requesting that the property hereinafter described be re-zoned from
R-3 to R-4 zoning classification for the expansion of the parking facili-
ties of the owner; and
WHEREAS said Canton Planning Commission of the city of Canton,
Illinois, has recommended to the City Council of the city of Canton, Illi-
nois, that said real estate be re-zoned to R-4 zoning classification in
accordance with said petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 34, Township
7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
Fulton County, Illinois, bounded as follows: Beginning
at a point on the North line of the Lewistown Road, now
West Maple Street, as the same was located on August 13,
1902, at the Southeast corner of the 50-foot by 180-foot
tract in said quarter section heretofore conveyed to A.H.
Dobbins by Charles Martin and wife, as set forth in Instru-
ment recorded in Book 176, Page 289, as Document 99078;
thence North 1 degree 13 minutes 25 seconds West a dis-
tance of 119.1 feet; thence West 141.02 feet; thence South
13 degrees 25 minutes East 249.11 feet to the North line
of West Maple Street; thence Northeasterly on said North
line of West Maple Street to the point of beginning, com-
monly known as 353, 359, 365 and 371 West Maple Street,
Canton, Illinois,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY RE-ZONED FROM R-3 TO R-4 ZONING CLAS-
SIFICATION UNDER THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THIS CITY.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a
two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the
city of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by a two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council and approved
by the Mayor this 16th day of May, 1978.

CITY OF CANTON )
Petitioner, GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, a not-for-profit cor-
poration, of the city of Canton, Illinois, states the following:
Petitioner is the owner of the following-described real estate:
A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 7

By Ordinance dated July 16, 1974, numbered 466 the City
Council of the city of Canton, Illinois, granted to petitioner a condi-
tional use permit for the construction of a storage and warehouse facility
on the West 100 feet of the tract above described.
All the real estate above described was purchased for purposes of
expansion, and petitioner is in need of additional parking space for use
of employees and patients in order to fulfill its community purpose.
WHEREFORE, petitioner prays that this petition be referred to the
Planning and Zoning Commission of this city for hearing, after notice, and
that thereafter said commission will recommend to the City Council, and that
the City Council will rezone the above-described tract from R-3, Residential
Area, to R-4, Residential Area; or, in the alternative, that petitioner be

granted a Special Use Permit for said real estate in order that the same
may be used for parking for employees and patients of petitioner.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on _, 1978, at the hour of
.m., a PUBLIC HEARING will be held before the PLANNING AND
ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, in the City Council Room
at the City Building, located at 210 East Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois,
concerning the request of GRAHAM HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, petitioner, to rezone
certain real estate described in said petition, located at 359, 365, and
371 West Maple Street, Canton, Illinois, from R-3 Residential to R-4 Resi-
dential zoning classification, to be used for parking purposes; or in the
alternative to issue a special use permit to said hospital to use said real
estate for parking.
The legal description of the real estate involved is as follows:
