AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING FOR MORE THAN TWO (2) CONTINUOUS HOURS
ON THE WEST SIDE OF SOUTH AVENUE B IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETWEEN
WEST MAPLE STREET AND WEST HICKORY STREET BETWEEN THE HOURS OF SIX O'CLOCK
(6:00) A.M. AND SIX O'CLOCK (6:00) P.M.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee and the Legal and
Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois have determined
that it is necessary to prohibit parking for more than two (2) continuous
hours on the West side of South Avenue B in the City of Canton between
West Maple Street and West Hickory Street between the hours of six
o'clock (6:00) a.m. and six o'clock (6:00) p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Between the hours of six o'clock (.6:00) a.m. and six o'clock
(.6:00) p.m., no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted for more
than two (2) continuous hours on the West side of South Avenue B in the
City of Canton, Illinois between the South curb line of West Maple Street
and the North curb line of West Hickory Street.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars (.$5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
