ORDINANCE N0. ~ J'~~
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTER-
SECTIONS IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee and the Legal and
Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois have determined
that it is necessary, desirable and to the best interests of the City
of Canton to remove stop signs at certain intersections in the City of
Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Stop signs shall be removed at the following intersections:
Northwest corner and Southeast corner of North First Avenue at the
intersection of East Vine Street and North First Avenue.
Southwest corner and Northeast corner of East Myrtle Street at the
intersection of North Seventh Avenue and East Myrtle Street.
Southwest corner and Northeast corner of East Myrtle Street at the
intersection of North Eighth Avenue and East Myrtle Street.
Southwest corner and Northeast corner of East Myrtle Street at the
intersection of North Ninth Avenue and East Myrtle Street.
Southwest corner and Northeast corner of East Birch Street at the
intersection of North Eighth Avenue and East Birch Street.
Southwest corner and Northeast corner of East Birch Street at the
intersection of North Ninth Avenue and East Birch Street.
Northwest corner and Southeast corner of North Eleventh Avenue at the
intersection of East Locust Street and North Eleventh Avenue.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall remove the stop
signs at said intersections.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
