ORDINANCE N0. ~' ~ C"
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EAST CHESTNUT
STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETWEEN NORTH EIGHTH AVENUE
AND NORTH ELEVENTH AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee and the Legal and
Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois have determined
that it is necessary to prohibit parking on the South side of East
Chestnut Street in the City of Canton between North Eighth Avenue and
North Eleventh Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on
the South side of East Chestnut Street in the .City of Canton, Illinois
between the East curb line of North Eighth Avenue and the West curb line
of North Eleventh Avenue.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars (.$5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
