AN ORDINANCE
Annexing property of Charles L.
Martin, Jr. and Barbara Martin Lee
to the City of Canton, Illinois
..
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not within
corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the
City of Canton, Illinois, and
It further appearing to said City Council that this property
is located in an area which is well suited for multiple family
(residential purposes and therefore should be annexed as Zoning
.Configuration R-4, and
It further appearing to the said City Council that the premise:
.hereinafter described is owned by CHARLES L. MARTIN, JR. and
BARBARA MARTIN LEE and that no electors reside therein and,
It further appearing to said City Council that notice of the
annexation was given to the trustees for the Canton Community
Fire Protection District from which the followng described
parcel is being annexed, and,
WHEREAS, it appears to said City Council that this matter
was heard before the Canton Planning and Zoning Commission on the
15th day of November, 1977, A.D. and a recommendation of annexa-
tion in an R-4 Zoning Configuration was unanimously made,
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the West Half (W 1/2) of the
Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of Section
Twenty-five (25), Township Seven (7)
North, Range Four (4) East of the
Fourth Principal Meridian, described as
follows: Commencing at the Southeast
corner of the Northwest Quarter of Sec-
tion Twenty-five (25) thence running
South 89°46'20" West 1,333.18 feet to
a point; thence running North 0°50'04"
East 60 feet to a point; thence running
South 89°46'20" West 439.45 feet to a
concrete marker, thence running North
0°30'56" East 478 feet to the point of
beginning; from said point of beginning
thence running South 89°46'20" West 455.65
feet to a concrete marker; thence running

North 0°31'31" East 445.12 feet to a marker;
thence running North 89°45'50°' East approx-
imately 455.65 feet to a point; thence run-
ning South 0°30'56" West approximately 455.12
feet to the point of_ beginning; containing
approximately 5.00 acres, more or less.
~e and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 2. That this property shall be annexed zoned as R-4
ultiple family residential Zoning configuration.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance, together
ith an accurate map of the territory described shall be filed with
he Recorder of Deeds, Fulton County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
ffect from and after a majority vote of the City Council of the Cit
f Canton, and approved by the P4ayor thereof and the issuance of_ a
oning Compliance Certificate by the zoning officer for the City of
anton, Illinois.
PASSED by a majority of the City Council of the City of Canton,
llinois and approved by the mayor thereof this day of
1977. A.D.
