ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE DELETING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 14 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING PARKING IN CITY PARKING LOTS AND TITLE 9,
CHAPTER 6 OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING PARKING METERS
AND AMENDING THE HEADING OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER 10, SECTION 2 (D)
OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING PARKING IN THE BUSINESS
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee and the Legal and
Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois have determined
that it is no longer necessary or to the best interests of the City
of Canton to have parking meter zones in the City of Canton; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Title 9, Chapter 5, Section 14 of the Canton Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby deleted.
2. That Title 9, Chapter 6 of the Canton Municipal Code be,
and the same is hereby deleted.
3. That the heading of Title 9, Chapter 10, Section 2 (D)
of the Canton Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows: "Parking motor vehicles in the business
district and in City parking lots."
4. That the remainder of Title 9, Chapter 10, Section 2 (D)
of the Canton Municipal Code remain in full force and effect.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois
and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
