AN ORDINANCE
Annexing Property Owned by Linn Lanes, Inc.,
a corporation, to the City of Canton, Illinois
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described
is not within the corporate limits of any municipality but
is contiguous to the City of Canton, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that
this property is located in an area which is well suited for
commercial purposes and should therefore be annexed as a
zoning configuration B-2; and,
WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that
the premises hereinafter described are owned by Linn Lanes,
Tnc., a corporation, and that no electors reside thereon;
and,
WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that
an anomalous situation exists with regard to said premises
in that a portion of the improvements located substantially
on the premises hereinafter described are also located
within a portion of the City of Canton; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the City
Council has adopted a policy of not extending sewer and
water and other municipal services to premises which are
located outside the corporate limits of the city and that
the premises hereinafter described is located not within the
City of Canton, Illinois, but nevertheless has been extended
city services; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the
extension of city services to areas not within the City of
Canton is not in the best interests of said city; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING that the City Council of said city
has indicated to Linn Lanes, Inc. that unless an annexation
to the City of Canton of the hereinafter described property
is completed, that said city may discontinue city services
to that parcel of property.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the territory described as follows:
A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35,
Township 7 North of the Base Line, Range 4 East of
Fourth Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois,
being more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Lot 1 of a sub-
division as shown by a tract survey prepared by E. C.
VanSickle, dated June 3, 1958, and recorded in Plat
Book 3, Page 134, as Document Number 360068 in the

Recorder's Office of Fulton County, Illinois, the
' Southeast corner of said Lot 1 being the place of
beginning of the tract to be described; thence East
100 feet, more or less, to a point; thence North
414.83 feet, more or less, to a point; thence West
100 feet, more or less, to a point; thence South 414.83
feet, more or less, to the place of beginning, situated,
lying and being in the City of Canton, County of Fulton,
and State of Illinois,
e and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton,
Illinois.
SECTION 2: That this property shall be annexed in a
oning configuration of B-2, General Commercial District.
SECTION 3: That a portion of the existing improvement,
mely, a bowling alley and related facilities, located on
e premises hereinabove described, is also located on a
rtion of the following described premises:
Lots 36, 37 and 38, Fisher's Addition to the City of
Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois.

he same is hereby rezoned from its existing zoning configuration
o a B-2, General Commercial District zoning configuration.
SECTION 4: That a certified copy of this ordinance,
ogether with an accurate map of the territory hereinabove
escribed, shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of
ulton County, Illinois.
SECTION 5: That appropriate changes shall be made by
he proper city officer or employee upon the corporate maps
f the City of Canton to reflect the zoning configurations
ereinabove ordained.
SECTION 6: That this ordinance shall be in full force
nd effect from and after a majority vote of the City Council
f the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
hereof.
PASSED: By a majority of the City Council of the City
of Canton, Il inois, and a roved by the Mayor of said City
