ORDINANCE N0. ~' ~~1~
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not within the cor-
porate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the City of Canton,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, it further appears to the said City Council that no elec-
tors reside in said territory hereinafter described, and the owner of re-
cord of all the land within said territory has requested that it be annexed
to said city and that, upon annexation, the same be zoned R-4, multiple-
family residential, as shown by the records of this Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the South Half of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 10, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of
the Fourth Principal Meridian, more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Section 10,
Township and Range aforesaid, thence West 743 feet,
to the point of beginning, thence West 225 feet,
thence in a Northerly direction 660 feet, thence
East 242.6 feet, thence South 660 feet to the point
of beginning, situated in the County of Fulton and
State of Illinois,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY ANNEXED to the City of Canton, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That the territory hereinabove described in Section 1 be and the
same is hereby zoned R-4, multiple-family residential.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an accur-
ate map of the territory above described, shall be recorded with
the Recorder of Deeds, Fulton County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a two-
thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
