HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1990ORDINANCE NO. , Q Q ~ -~~ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY PURPOSES WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the City of Canton Police Department and Fire Department presently owns certain items of personal property no longer needed or used for City purposes; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. The following items hereto attached as Exhibit "A" are hereby approved for sale and shall be sold at public auction and to the highest bidder. Such auction shall be held at the Gorsuch Auction House, 1004 S. 4th Avenue, Canton, Illinois, on Saturday, September 26, 2009, and continuing until all items are sold or until bidding has terminated. 2. Advertisement of such sale shall be made by Gorsuch Auction House. 3. The Mayor may, in his discretion, hire and employ one or more professional auctioneer(s) to assist in such auction. 4. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, by at least 3/4 vote of the Corporate Authorities and approval of the Mayor thereof.
