AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 11, SECTION 2 (E) 3. AND 4.
OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS FOR
BOATING AT LAKE CANTON.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to the best
interests of the City of Canton to modify and amend Title 8, Chapter 11,
Section 2 (E) 3. and 4. of the Canton Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Title 8, Chapter 11, Section 2 (E) 3. of the Canton Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3. All licenses shall be obtained by making application
with the cashier of the Water and Sewer Department of the
City, at the City Building, Canton, Illinois, and each
person applying for a license, as aforesaid, shall present
evidence to show that the boat is properly registered, if
such boat requires state registration."
2. That Title 8, Chapter 11, Section 2 (E) 4. of the Canton Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"4. All owners of boats with motors or engines to be
operated on Lake Canton shall carry liability and pro-
perty damage insurance covering any boat on said Lake."
3. That the remainder of Title 8, Chapter 11, Lake Canton, of the
Canton Municipal Code remain in full force and effect.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
