ORDINANCE N0. '~ U `~~
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT NORTH AVENUE A IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
BETWEEN WEST LOCUST STREET AND WEST VINE STREET SHALL BE A ONE-WAY STREET
UPON WHICH TRAFFIC SHALL MOVE FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ONLY.
WHEREAS, the Streets & Traffic Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary to provide that North Avenue
A in the City of Canton, Illinois between West Locust Street and West Vine
Street shall be a one-way street upon which traffic shall move from south
to north only; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a
similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That North Avenue A in the City of Canton, Illinois between West
Locust Street and West Vine Street shall be a one-way street upon which
traffic shall move from south to north only.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00), nor more than two
hundred dollars ($200,00) for each offense.

4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
