ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TIRE NOISE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to the best
interests of the City of Canton to prohibit squealing, screeching or
other such noise from tires in the City of Canton; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no person shall operate a motor vehicle in such a manner
as to cause or allow to be emitted squealing, screeching or other such
noise from the tires, except where such noise is caused by an emergency
operation to avoid imminent danger.
2. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be sub3ect to a fine of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00), nor
more than two hundred dollars (.$200.00) for each offense.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
