AN ORDINANCE REZONING A PART OF LOT 72, ORIGINAL
TOWN OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a Petition was filed by RICHARD C. MAURER
and CARLENE A. MAURER seeking rezoning of certain real
estate as described herein, from its present zoning
configuration of R-4 to B-2 in October, 1978, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on November 13,
1978, at which no objectors were present, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the
City of Canton at a regular meeting on December 11, 1978,
unanimously recommended to the City Council of the City
of Canton that said property be rezoned,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the corporate
authorities of the City of Canton as follows:
Section I: That the real estate known and described

as a part of Lot Seventy-two (72), Original Town of Canton,
Illinois, commencing at the Southwest corner of said Lot 72,
running thence East Seventy and Three-quarters (70 3/4)
feet, thence North One Hundred Twenty-three and Three-
quarters (123 3/4) feet, thence West Seventy and Three-
quarters (70 3/4) feet, thence South One Hundred Twenty-
three and Three-quarters (123 3/4) feet to the Place of
Beginning, ALSO a part of Lot Sixty-one (61), Original
Town of Canton, Illinois, commencing at the Southwest
corner of said Lot 61, running thence North Seventy-three
and Three-quarters (73 3/4) feet, thence East Seventy and
Three-quarters (70 3/4) feet, thence South Seventy-three
and Three-quarters (73 3/4) feet, thence West to the
Place of Beginning, be, and the same is hereby rezoned
B-2.

Section II: That the appropriate changes be made
on the official zoning. maps of the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section III: This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect upon a majority "aye" vote of the City Council
and approved by the Mayor.
Passed by a majority vote of the City
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approved by
