Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance #4330ORDINANCE NO. 4330 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CAMERAS AND OTHER SECURITY UPGRADES FROM SEICO, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois ("City"), is a non -home rule unit of government; WHEREAS, the City is in need of cameras and other security upgrades on its facilities used for public purposes; WHEREAS, the City has obtained a quote from Seico, Inc. of Pekin, Illinois for cameras an other security upgrades (collectively the "Security Upgrades") as more fully set forth in Exhibit A; WHEREAS, the corporate authorities find it to be clearly in the public's interest to proceed with the purchase of the Security Upgrades and have agreed, by this Ordinance, by at least a vote of two-thirds (2/3) to waive competitive bidding requirements; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the City to purchase the Security Upgrades, as set forth in Exhibit A, for the City of Canton. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City of Canton hereby finds as fact the recitals set forth above and are incorporated herein as though fully set forth; 2. Any applicable competitive bidding requirements set forth by Illinois law and the Canton Municipal Code are hereby waived; 3. The purchase of the Security Upgrades, as described in Exhibit A, for up to $93,840.05, plus necessary shipping/handling, taxes and fees, is hereby APPROVED; 4. The Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute and deliver any and all purchase agreements, purchase orders, or other documents necessary to purchase, receive and install the Security Upgrades; 5. The purchase price, shipping/handling, taxes, and/or fees set forth above shall be paid from the City's Water/Sewer Admin, Lake and Grounds, Building and Grounds, Street Department, Police Department, Fire Department, City Admin, Water Plant and Cannabis funds. 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and approval by the Mayor thereof.
