HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-25-22 Public Notice of BDD Public HearingNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS PROPOSED FIRST AMENDMENT TO BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 The City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, an Illinois Municipal Corporation, hereby gives Notice of a Public Hearing to be held at 5:30 pm, Central Time, on October 25, 2022, at the Canton Historic Train Depot, 50 N 4th Avenue, Canton Illinois, to consider its proposed approval of the First Amendment to Canton Business Development District No.1 Redevelopment Plan and the designation of the proposed Business District Redevelopment Area as Amended. Any interested person may file a written objection with the City Clerk and may be heard orally at the Public Hearing with respect to any matters embodied in this Notice. Those attending electronically or by phone will be required to provide their name and address and the hearing will be recorded. The City shall hear and determine all alternate proposals or bids for any proposed conveyance, lease, mortgage or other disposition by the City of land or rights in land owned by the City and located within the proposed Business District Redevelopment Area, including all protests and objections at the Public Hearing. Prior to the Public Hearing, written comments, alternate proposals or bids may be submitted by 3:00 PM the day of the Hearing by sending an email to the City Clerk at awalters@cantoncityhall.org and inserting “Public Comment for BDD Public Hearing” into the subject line or by regular mail at the following address: City Clerk, City of Canton, 2 N. Main Street, Canton, Illinois 61520. The proposed Redevelopment Plan and Area comply with the provisions of the “Business District Development and Redevelopment Act” (65 ILCS 5/11-74.3 et. seq.).
