INTERGOVERNMENTAL
COOPERATION AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT is made between the City of Salem, Illinois,
hereinafter referred to as "Salem", and the City of Canton, Illinois, hereinafter
referred to as "Canton".
WHEREAS, Salem plans to implement a Hot Sand Seal Overlay road
project to improve local streets and roads; and
WHEREAS, Canton, by and through Mr. Cliff O'Brian, its Public Works
Director, has developed certain experience and expertise with such a program in
Canton; and
WHEREAS, Canton and Salem desire to cooperate pursuant to the Illinois
Intergovernmental Cooperation Act found at 5 ILCS 220/1 et. seq., in furtherance
of areas of mutual interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the statutory intergovernmental powers
and authority, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. Canton will authorize its Public Works Director to travel to Salem for
one day in April, 2006, to assist Salem in reviewing public streets
suitable for the hot sand seal overlay project and for two or three
days in August, 2006, to assist in the supervision and
implementation of the actual project work.
2. Scheduling of the exact dates is subject to approval by Canton.
3. Salem will pay for all of Mr. O'Brian's travel, meals and lodging
expenses. Salem will reimburse Canton for Mr. O'Brian's wages for
each day he is in Salem assisting with the hot sand seal overlay
project.
