Mayor Bohler offered his appreciation to Ron Long for his donation of $500 to the `Partnership to Reduce Impaired Student Motorists' (P.R.I.S.M.). Rod Hamilton serves on the Fire Board of Appeals and has resigned as he will be moving from the City. Mayor Bohler mentioned that he will be needing someone to replace Rod. Mayor Bohler commented that it is a known fact that people like to repeat statements. It has been stated in barber shops, restaurants, and other establishments that the City of Canton is in financial trouble. When statements are made that are not true, it hurts. The City's finances are accountable and are in good shape. My office, the city clerk and city treasurer's doors are always open, we welcome any questions anytime. Some cuts will be noticed as a number of employees will be retiring shortly. (Due to the City adopting the ERA early retirement with IMRF.) The citizens and the City Council need to work together, as this will bring great things for this good community.
