A regular meeting of the Canton City Council was held on February 5, 2002 in council

Council Action
Motion by Aldermen Meade/Sarff, to have Colin Edwards work with WIRC under
his retainer to provide the information required for the grant application, and the
cost not to exceed $3,000. Roll call. AYES -Aldermen Fillingham, Shores, Meade,
West, Sarff, Molleck. NAYS -None. 6 AYES, 0 NAYS, 2 ABSENT. Motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR JERRY BOHLER. Jerry reported city hall
has now moved into the new city building, and apologize to the citizens of Canton if they
have called and not reach a person. Keep trying and let the phones ring.
Jerry thanked all city employees and their family members for helping us out in the
move.
Mayor Bohler mentioned this item is just for information, but he wants Maurer Stutz, Inc
to take a look at resurfacing the square, and also looking at the traffic flow. When the

ORDINANCE -REFUNDING OF GENERAL OBLIGATION WATERWORKS
AND SEWERAGE BONDS (ALTERNATE REVENUE SOURCE,) SERIES 1995.

placed on its passage. Roll call. AYES -Aldermen Molleck, Sarff, West, Meade,
Shores, Fillingham. NAYS -None. 6 AYES, 0 NAYS, 2 ABSENT. Motion carried.

ORDINANCE - GRANTING A SPECIAL USE/HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT
FOR THE OPERATION OF A CUSTOM WELDING SHOP AT 724 SOUTH
SECOND AVENUE, CANTON, ILLINOIS TO CARL T. SIMONS. First reading,
read by title.
ORDINANCE -REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY GRAHAM
HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION FROM AN R-3 ZONING CONFIGURATION, TO
AN R-4 ZONING CONFIGURATION, AND TO ALLOW A SPECIAL USE
PERMIT. First reading, read by title.
ORDINANCE - GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION
OF A BED AND BREAKFAST AT 1060 N. MAIN STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS
TO ALICE BROWN. First reading, read by title.
RESOLUTION -APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
CANTON AND TODD FLETCHER. First reading, read by title. Motion by
Aldermen Sarff/Shores, the resolution be adopted. Roll call. AYES -Aldermen
Fillingham, Shores, Meade, West, Sarff, Molleck. NAYS -None. 6 AYES, 0 NAYS, 2
ABSENT. Motion carried. Resolution being #3601.
EXECUTIVE SESSION -FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CONTRACT FOR
NEGOTIATIONS. Motion by Aldermen Sarff/Molleck, to go into executive session
for the purpose of discussing fire department negotiations. Roll call. AYES -
Aldermen Molleck, Sarff, West, Meade, Shores, Fillingham. NAYS -None. 6 AYES, 0
NAYS, 2 ABSENT. Motion carried.
The regular scheduled council meeting convened into executive session at 6:40 p.m.
The executive session minutes are in the office of the city clerk for review.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Aldermen Molleck/Shores, to adjourn. Voice vote,
motion carried. The regular scheduled meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
