AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SALE OF A
1996 PIERCE SABER PUMPER(ENGINE 2)
WHEREAS,the corporate authorities have determined that the City of Canton presently
owns certain items of personal property, set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto, which are no
longer necessary or useful to, or for the best interest of the City (hereinafter collectively the
"Personal Property").
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON,Fulton County,Illinois as follows:
1. The City of Canton hereby finds as fact the recitals set forth above and are incorporated
herein as though fully set forth;
2. The Personal Property is hereby authorized to be sold to at a price of no less than Eight
Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($8,000.00) to a buyer approved by the Mayor or his
designee;
3. The Mayor and the Fire Chief are hereby authorized to list and advertise the Personal
Property for sale through social media and other sources;
4. The Mayor, or his designee, is authorized to execute any and all titles, bills of sale,
brokerage offers, listing agreements, or other documents necessary to accomplish sale of
the Personal Property as set forth above; and
5. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of
the City of Canton, Illinois, by at least a majority vote of the Corporate Authorities and
approval of the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton Count Illinois on the 20th day of
December, 2022.
