AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A FORD F-350 FROM DAVIS FORD
WHEREAS,the City of Canton,Fulton County, Illinois ("City"), is anon-home rule unit
of government;
WHEREAS,the City is in need of a newer pickup truck with a snow blade package to be
used for public purposes;
WHEREAS, the City has obtained quotes related to the purchase of a new pickup truck
with a snow blade package from Davis Ford in Canton,Illinois;
WHEREAS,the corporate authorities find it to be clearly in the public's interest to proceed
with the purchase of a new pick up truck and has agreed, by this Ordinance and by,at least a vote
of two-thirds (2/3),to waive competitive bidding requirements;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary
and in the best interests of the City to purchase of one (1) 2022 Ford F-350 and other
options/accessories, as described in "Exhibit A," plus a snow blade package (collectively the
"Truck") for the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City of Canton hereby finds as fact the recitals set forth above and are incorporated
herein as though fully set forth;
2. Any applicable competitive bidding requirements set forth by Illinois law and the Canton
Municipal Code are hereby waived;
3. The purchase of the Truck for up to $56,069.00, plus necessary taxes, titles, and fees, is
hereby APPROVED to be paid for from the proper accounts as a budgeted expense;
4. The Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute and deliver any and all
purchase agreements, purchase orders, or other documents necessary to purchase and
receive the Truck from Davis Ford, Inc. in Canton,Illinois;
5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton and approval by the Mayor thereof.
