AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR MAY 1, 2022 — APRIL 30, 2023
WHEREAS, on April 19, 2022, the City of Canton (the "City") adopted an Ordinance
Adopting the Budget for Purposes of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, in lieu of an
Appropriation Ordinance, for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2022 and ending April 30, 2023
(Ordinance No. 4286) (hereinafter the "Annual Budget")
WHEREAS, pursuant to Illinois law and Ordinance No. 4286, the Annual Budget may be
amended and added to by two-thirds of the members of the corporate authorities then holding
office;
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities believe it to be in the best interests of the City to
amend the Annual Budget and add funds, which are currently available, to the budget for -the capital
expenditures of the fire department.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of of the City of Canton, Illinois,
the following:
1. The various budget line items shown in Section 2 hereof are hereby amended by
deleting the amount established by Ordinance No. 4286 and replacing said amounts
with the amended amounts set forth in Section 2.
2. General Fund — Fire Department — Equipment & Improvements

001-52-58200
Ordinances No. 4286 Amount:
$11,300.00
Amended Amount:
$566,300.00
Net Change of Expense:
+$555,000.00
3. Except for the amendments contained in Section 2 hereof, Ordinance No. 4286 shall
remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
4. The fund balance to be affected by the above change is the balance of the General Fund,
which will be decreased by the $555,000.00 expense.
5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
