REVISION TO FEDERAL AID SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act provides Federal Highway funds
for urbanizing areas over 5,000 population for use on designated Federal
Aid Urban routes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton receives such funding for its Federal
Aid Urban System; and,
WHEREAS, as urbanization of the Canton area takes place those
roadways included in the Urban area change as the Urban Limits of the
community change; and,
WHEREAS, the Urban Limits of Canton are anticipated to change
soon so that County Highway Six, F.A.S. Route 1458, (The Cemetery
Road) in its entirety on the East side of Canton will be contained within
the Urban Limits; and,
WHEREAS, the Fulton County Board by Resolution, resolved that it
is advantageous to Fulton County to remove this roadway from the Federal
Aid Secondary System and place it on the Federal Aid Urban System and
such transfer will conform with Functional Classification System re-
quirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That portion of F.A.S. Route 1458, County Highway 6 between
the T.P.&W. Railroad and State Route 9 be added to the Federal Aid
Urban System of the Canton Urban area.
2. That portion of 20th Avenue from Ash Street extended to
Chestnut Street be added to the Federal Aid Urban System of the Canton
Urban area.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
