A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR DONALD E. WILLIAMS
WHEREAS, Donald E. Williams has served as a volunteer in the
Civil Defense of the City of Canton, Illinois since 1964; and
WHEREAS, Donald E. Williams has served as the Civil Defense
Director of the City of Canton since November 11, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the service of Director Williams to the City has been
honorable, loyal, and characterized by devotion to duty and principle;
and
WHEREAS, Director Williams has served the City with exceptional
ability and skill; and
WHEREAS, Director Williams is retiring as Civil Defense Director
on March 31, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois
are unanimous in the opinion that the service of Civil Defense Director
Donald E. Williams ought to be noted officially in the records of the
City as a proper expression of gratitude for said service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the service of Civil Defense Director Donald E. Williams
to the City of Canton, Illinois has been exemplary and notation thereof
is hereby made in the official records of the City of Canton, Illinois.
2. That a copy of this Resolution, signed by the Mayor and the
City Clerk of the City of Canton, be presented to Civil Defense Director
Donald E. Williams.
PASSED by the unanimous vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois and APPROVED by the Mayor thereof this ~-~~ ~ day of C~~=/tt.-'~c.,~ 1978.
