HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #0766RESOLUTION N0. ~~ ~~~ REVISION TO FEDERAL AID SYSTEM WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act provides Federal Highway funds for urbanizing areas over 5,000 population for use on designated Federal Aid Urban routes; and WHEREAS, the City of Canton receives such funding for its Federal Aid Urban System; and WHEREAS, as urbanization of the Canton area takes place those road- ways included in the Urban area change as the Urban Limits of the Community change; and WHEREAS, the entire F.A. System (primary, secondary, and Urban) was revised nationally in 1976; and WHEREAS, in 1976 said revision left certain collector streets off the Federal Aid Urban System. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That portion of Ash Street from the intersection of Sixteenth Avenue easterly to the intersection of Twentieth Avenue be added to the Federal Aid Urban System of the Canton Urban Area. 2. That a portion of Twentieth Avenue from Ash Street extended to the TP&W Railroad be added to the Federal Aid Urban System of the Canton Urban Area. 3. That Myrtle Street from North Main Street, classified as F.A.U. 22 to Sixteenth Avenue, functionally classified as a collector, be added to the Federal Aid Urban System of the Canton Urban Area. 4. That the portion of Sixteenth Avenue from East Myrtle Street to East Ash Street, functionally classified as a collector, be added to the Federal Aid Urban System of the Canton Urban Area.
