A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE CITY TREASURER
AS THE BUDGET OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, Section 1-25-1(C) of the Canton Municipal Code allows the Mayor to
appoint the City Treasurer as the Budget Officer, in which case the duties of the Budget Officer
shall be part of and addition to the duties of the City Treasurer;
WHEREAS, the Mayor, Kent McDowell, has appointed the City Treasurer, Crystal
Wilkinson, as the City's Budget Officer pursuant to the Canton Municipal Code and Illinois law;
WHEREAS, City Council has advised and consented to the appointment the City
Treasurer, Crystal Wilkinson,as the City's Budget Officer pursuant to the Canton Municipal Code
and Illinois law.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS,AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Treasurer, Crystal Wilkinson,is hereby appointed as Budget Officer pursuant
to the Canton Municipal Code and Illinois law.
2. The Budget Officer shall perform such duties as required by the Canton Municipal
Code, Illinois law, and other applicable law.
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately.upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 3`d
day of May, 2022, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Alderperson Andra Chamberlin, Justin Nelson, John Lovell, Craig West, Angela
Hale, Jeff Fritz, Angela Lingenfelter, Greg Gossett
NAYS: None
