RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of April, 1979, there was held in and
for the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, an election for the
purpose of electing four aldermen, each of whom is to serve a four-year
term; and,
WHEREAS, the said election has been regularly called and held as
provided by law, and the returns of said election, including the tally
sheets, poll records, certificates of results, and other returns of said
election have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Canton, and
the returns are now before the Mayor and City Council, and the said
City Council is familiar therewith.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The election held on the 17th day of April, 1979, was held in all
respects as provided by law. Notice of said election was given by pub-
lishing the notice once, on March 28, 1979, in the Canton Daily Ledger,
which newspaper is published in the City of Canton, and which date was
not more than 30 nor less than 15 days in advance of the date of said
election. The judges appointed by this City Council were duly qualified
to fill such offices in each of the precincts, and were duly sworn to
perform their duties before the commencement of the said election. The
returns of said election have been duly canvassed by said judges and
were filed with the City Clerk of the City of Canton.
2. The Mayor and City Council find from a canvass of the returns of
said election that the following votes were cast in each of the said wards
in favor of the following persons at said election:

3. The Mayor and City Council find from a canvass of the returns of
said election that the following total number of votes was cast in each of
the said wards, and that there were the following total number of blank,
spoiled and defective ballots in each ward:

THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HEREBY PROCLAIMS AND DECLARES:
Victor Kovachevich, Sr. to be elected as Alderman of the City of
Canton for a term of four years;
Greg Selfridge to be elected as Alderman of the City of Canton for
a term of four years;
David Grant to be elected as an Alderman of the City of Canton for
a term of four years; and
Daniel B. Clarke to be elected as an Alderman of the City of Canton
for a term of four years.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
