HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #0896RESOLUTION NO.~ A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PERMISSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON ILLINOIS TO CLOSE DESIGNATED STREETS WITHIN CITY LIMITS ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1981 (SATURDAY) FROM 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 (NOON). WHEREAS, The Western Illinois Labor Coalition is sponsoring a parade the morning of September 19, 1981; and WHEREAS, this parade will require the temporary closure of Elm Street at Fifth Avenue, Second, Third and Fourth Avenue between Elm and Chestnut, city streets within the city of Canton, Illinois. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That if such permission is granted by the City Council of the City of Canton, all traffic during the periods of time specified above shall be detoured over the following routes: traffic will be permitted to pass during parade breaks. 2. That if such permission is granted by the City Council of the City of Canton, the City of Canton assumes full responsibility for the direction, protection, and regulation of the traffic during the time the detour is in effect. 3. That this Resoulution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
