A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE FOR MEMBERS OF THE CITY
OF CANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT, LOCAL N0. 1897, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF
FIRE FIGHTERS, AND CANTON POLICE DEPARTMENT, LOCAL N0. 759, AMERICAN
FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Agreements heretofore reached between the City of
Canton and each of the above Unions the City of Canton has obligated itself
to pay unto such Union members quarterly cost of living allowances; and,
WHEREAS, members of the foregoing Unions are now entitled to receive cost
of living allowances which accrued to such members during the months of
February, March and April of 1981; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of living entitlement has now been determined to be in
the amount of 23~ per hour for each of the aforesaid months.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the cost of living allowance to be paid the then members of each
of Local No. 1897, International Association of Fire Fighters, and Local
No. 759, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, for
the months of February, March and April of 1981 is 23~ per hour.
2. That this cost of living allowance shall be paid as soon as practicable
immediately following the passage of this Resolution and until the aforesaid
entitlements have been fully paid.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
