OATH OF OFFICE.
City Clerk Nancy Whites gave the oath to Aldermen
Jason Strandberg, ward one; Larry Sarff, ward two; Les Carl, ward three,
Sonya Lewis, ward four.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE OPENED THE MEETING FOLLOWED BY
THE INVOCATION was not held as Mayor Heinze stated was done in the
first meeting.
Mayor Heinze asked for roll call at 6:38 p.m. Present – Aldermen Joe
Berardi, Jason Strandberg, Craig West, Larry Sarff, Kevin Meade, Les Carl,
Eric Schenck, Sonya Lewis. Absent – None.
(Others in the audience: Mayor Rodney Heinze, City Clerk Nancy Whites,
City Treasurer Kathy Luker, Interim City Attorney John McCarthy, Public

ADOPTION OF ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER. Motion
and second
by Aldermen West/Meade, to adopt Robert Rules of Order to conduct
business. Roll call. AYES – Aldermen Lewis, Schenck, Carl, Meade, Sarff,
West, Strandberg, Berardi. NAYS – None. 8 AYES, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSENT.
Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
RESOLUTION – ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF CANTON FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING MAY, 2007. Motion
First reading, read by title.
and second by Aldermen West/Lewis, the resolution be adopted. Roll call.
AYES – Aldermen Strandberg, West, Sarff, Meade, Carl, Schenck, Lewis.
NAYS – Alderman Berardi. 7 AYES, 1 NAY, 0 ABSENT. Motion
carried. The resolution being #3800.
EXECUTIVE SESSION – NEGOTIATIONS, GRIEVANCE &
PERSONNEL COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS – THREATENED,
PENDING LITIGATION. Motion
and second by Aldermen Sarff/Carl,
to go into executive session to discuss Threatened, Pending Litigation. Roll
call. AYES – Aldermen Lewis, Schenck, Carl, Meade, Sarff, West,
Strandberg, Berardi. NAYS – None. 8 AYES, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSENT.
Motion carried.

The regular scheduled Council meeting convened for executive session at
6:50 p.m.
The regular scheduled Council meeting reconvened into open session at 8:24
p.m.
Alderman Sarff scheduled an executive session for Tuesday May 8 for
Threatened, Pending Litigation and Negotiations for Public Works Contract.

Also Negotiations for Public Works Contract for Thursday 10 of May at
6:00 p.m.
Adjournment. Motion
and second by Aldermen Sarff/West, to adjourn.
The motion carried by voice vote, and was unanimous. The meeting
adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
