Goal: The Work Day is designed to build and confirm a consensus among members of the
Canton City Council regarding strategic priorities for the City over the next year.
Agenda
9:00 a.m. - Welcome & Overview of Agenda – Jim
Review of Accomplishments & Previous Year’s Priorities
Distribution of index cards for anonymous questions of what our
priorities, visions and plans are for the next 1, 2 and 5 years.
Prioritize list by the following criteria:
Identify mandated needs vs. wants
Identify how we are going to pay for it
Make sure citizens’ will is a very high priority
Be flexible – change will occur
Consider benefits and impacts
Consider current projects underway or on the books
Decide what is important, i.e. culture, environment, traffic
Recognize impacts to other agencies
9:30 a.m. - Review of Departmental Capital Request – Jim
10:15 a.m. - Break
10:30 a.m. - Review W&S Bond Related Projects – Keith, Bill, Joe & Greg
Review of MFT Plan – Keith & Bill
Review of TIF Projects and Budget – Jim & Keith
11:45 a.m. - Break
Noon - Lunch: Exploring efficiencies of joint services with Fulton County
Board Chairman Bob Bucher
1:00 p.m. - Discussion with SRPED Director Missy Towery on 2013
Goals and 336/Rt.24 Options.
1:45 p.m. - Theater Group Report – Scott Miller
2:30 p.m. - Chamber of Commerce Visioning Committee Report – Pastor
Greg White
3:00 p.m. - Adjournment
