RESOLUTION N0. 936
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SOUTHEAST
NEIGHBORHOOD STRATEGIC AREA OF THE CITY OF CANTON HUD THREE YEAR COMPREHENSIVE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM AND FINDING THE SAME TO BE A
"CONSERVATION AREA".
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, is the recipient of
and a participant in a Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development
Three Year Comprehensive Community Development Block Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has heretofore established the Southeast
Neighborhood Strategic Area as part of that program; and,
WHEREAS, it now appears desireable and necessary to determine and establish
the boundaries of the Southeast Neighborhood Strategic Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the boundary of the Southeast Neighborhood Strategic Area is
hereby established to be as follows, to-wit:
Commencing at the intersection of the center line of South Second
Avenue and the Southern corporate limit of the City of Canton;
thence, running along the center line of Second Avenue in a
Northerly direction to the center line of East Locust Street;
thence, in an Easterly direction along the center line of East
Locust Street to the center line of North Eleventh Avenue; thence,
South along the center line of Eleventh Avenue to the Southern
corporate limit of the City of Canton; thence, in a Southwesterly
direction along the corporate limit of the City of Canton to the
point of beginning, all of the foregoing being situated in the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
2. That Exhibit A hereto attached and herein incorporated by reference
sets forth such boundary in map form.
3. That, whenever used above, the term "corporate limit", or, any derivation
thereof, shall be construed to mean the corporate limit of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois as the same existed as of the date of the passage of this
Resolution.
4. That, with tespect to the above described Southeast Neighborhood Strategic
Area, the Canton City Council now finds that such area is a "Conservation Area"
within the meaning of that term as used by the Urban Community Conservation Act
(Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, Ch. 672, s 3(d)).
5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,

Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
