RESOLUTION NO. 969
A RESOLUTION ABATING THE IMPOSITION OF CERTAIN TAXES
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois
heretofore enacted Ordinance Number 508 which, inter olio, provided
for the issuance of certain bonds as in said ordinance more particularily
set forth, and which, further, provided for a levy for the payment of
such bonds in the amount of $ 69,375.00 for the year 1982 with
directions to the Fulton County Clerk to provide said amount for such
purpose for the year 1982; and,
WHEREAS, it now appears that the City of Canton, Illinois does not
require the imposition of the aforesaid amount for the year 1982 as
provided in said ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, by reason thereof, taxes to be spread by the Fulton County
Clerk for the year 1982, as above set forth, may and ought to be abated
accordingly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the tax levy for the year 1982 for the purpose of paying
principal and interest on the bonds authorized by Ordinance Number 508
be, and the same hereby is, abated in the amount of $ 69,375.00
for the year 1982, and the Fulton County Clerk is hereby advised,
directed and authorized not to extend the sum of $ 69,375,00
of said tax levy, provided, however, that this Resolution shall not in
any manner affect the tax levies by Ordinance Number 508 provided for
any year other than the year 1982.
2. That the Canton City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized
to provide the Fulton County Clerk with one certified copy of this
Resolution as the County Clerk's authority to abate the taxes as
above set forth.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immedi-
ately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this lhth day of Npvamhar ,
1982, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Savill, Sarff, Grant, Carl, Larsen, Horr.
NAYS : None .
ABSENT: None.
