RESOLUTION NO. 987 _A
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PRE-ANNEXATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF CANTON AND THE METROPOLITAN SANITARY DISTRICT OF GREATER CHICAGO
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary
and in the best interest of the City of Canton to enter into a Pre-
Annexation Agreement with the Metropolitan Sanitary District of
Greater Chicago.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Pre-Annexation Agreement between the City of Canton
and the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago, Exhibit "A"
hereto attached and herein fully incorporated by reference, is hereby
approved.
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to
execute and deliver the same on behalf of the City of Canton.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immedi-
ately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a special meeting this 31st day of May, 1983 upon a
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Horr, Carl, Workman, Sarff, Savill, Hammond,
Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.

PRE-ANNEXATION AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of
1983 between the City of Canton, an
Illinois municipal corporation (hereinafter called "City")
and the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago,
an Illinois municipal corporation (hereinafter called "MSDGC"),
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, MSDGC is the owner of certain real property which
the City wishes to annex and purchase for use as an industrial
park.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED by and between the City
and MSDGC that MSDGC shall be allowed to disconnect any real
property owned by MSDGC set forth in Exhibit "A" hereto attached
at any time 3-years or more following the effective date of the
annexation of such property if such property has not then been
purchased by the City, provided, however, that any such discon-
nection from the City shall otherwise be in accordance with
applicable State statutes.
The parties further agree that this Pre-Annexation Agreement is
supported by good and valuable considerations not set forth herein,
the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby mutually acknowledged
by the City and MSDGC.
